Alex Lagon is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington where she received a B.A in theatre with a minor in musical theatre. She is an enthusiastic actor and teaching artist located in the DMV area.
While at the University of Mary Washington, she performed in Julius Caesar, The Play That Goes Wrong, Men on Boats, Matilda: The Musical, and Twelfth Night. She is trained in the Hagen method and Laban Movement Efforts. She is a highly focused and flexible actor who dives headfirst into every role. Additionally, she is a mezzo-soprano with classical voice training who loves singing musical theater. Alex is involved in new work development and social justice theatre and is always interested in hearing about new projects and reading new scripts. Most recently, Alex was a featured company member in Theatre 202’s Dreaming Without Limits Cabaret! During the rehearsal process for Dreaming Without Limits, Theatre 202 collaborated with Wonza Johnson and Greg Strasser of Broadway Dreams. Alex received a full tuition scholarship to continue her training with the Broadway Dreams team and looks forward to that journey.
As an educator, she focuses on creating a supportive classroom that values process just as much as final product. Young performers are encouraged to make mistakes and take big leaps on and off stage. Alex is comfortable teaching ages 3-25 and has a wide variety of experience in the classroom. She has taken this experience beyond the classroom recently, in administrative roles to assist classroom teachers at Imagination Stage. Alex teaches with multiple theaters throughout the DMV area, including Imagination Stage, Sitar Arts Center, Ford’s Theater, and Keegan Theater.
Currently, Alex is Young Company Coordinating for A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theater for the third year, she’s so excited for this season!
